WHAT’S MY LINE

Does anyone recall a popular television game show of that name that ran in the US from 1950 to 1967? I feel like I’ve been playing a part on the show as one of the celebrity panelists. My mind wanders while I work and dumb stuff starts popping in.
I’ve been working on those dratted heads and have spent the better part of these past two days painting three of them and since the three are different versions of the same character I started thinking about how at the beginning of the show before the panelists would come out the announcer would ask each of the contestants a question and each of the contestants would answer and it would go something like this:
Announcer: Contestant Number One, would you please tell the audience your name and what it is that you do?

My name is Santa Claus and on Christmas Eve I travel the world and give toys to good little girls and boys.
Announcer: Contestant Number Two, would you please tell the audience your name and what it is that you do?

My name is Santa Claus and on Christmas Eve I travel the world and give toys to good little girls and boys.
Announcer: Contestant Number Three, would you please tell the audience your name and what it is that you do?

My name is Santa Claus and on Christmas Eve I travel the world and give toys to good little girls and boys.
See why I’ve been having this strange dialog running around in my head? Now, if you were one of the panelists which of the three gentlemen who claim to be Santa would you choose? Who would you vote for? Would you vote for Contestant Number One? How about Contestant Number Two? Or does Contestant Number Three have your vote?
If you want to play the game please tell me which of these three heads belongs to the real Santa Claus. Your vote may determine which of the three gets a body first.  I have one body started and haven’t decided which of these heads is going to be the one. Help me decide.
Friday I received a package in the mail that was filled with some delightful treats and I thought I'd give you a peek so you can see how lucky I was to have been picked in a recent giveaway at Fox On The Run Meanderings. I was the winner in the fourth giveaway and this is what I won. The glitter couldn't have come at a better time. With all of the ornaments Bellamine and Wendy have been making I was completely glitterless and needed to get some before their next ornament making session.

Am I lucky or am I lucky? Thanks for being so generous Mary, I'll try to do something special with what you sent. Pop on over to Fox On The Run Meanderings if you want a chance to enter their current giveaway. These are some seriously talented and truly nice women and they always have something fun going on.

I hope you’re having a wonderful day. As always, thanks for stopping by.

Practical Magic House Drawing Winner

Ginger has kindly offered to help me by lending me a hand in drawing the winner for my Practical Magic Blog Party giveaway. So without further ado here's Ginger.

We've made up a list of the entrants and have assigned each a number which we've written on small squares of paper and placed into the cauldron. Pretty simple idea so far.

Ginger has written a selection spell and is chanting it over the cauldron.

The slips of paper are becoming agitated and I believe I can see one starting to rise from the cauldron.

Yes!! There it is! We have a winner! The winner in the drawing for the PM pencil sketch of the house is...

Number 14 which is assigned to Celia at Adventures of the striped stockings.

She has won this house, er...that's not right, I meant to show you this house:

Good grief, help me here Ginger. I seem to be confused. Could I be suffering a selection defect as a result of the spell you just cast? I'll give it one more try.

Now this looks like the right house. As I explained in the earlier post this is not the sketch I showed at the beginning of my Practical Magic blog party post as that one had an unfortunate mishap. As soon as Celia gets in touch with her contact information I can get her prize mailed off.

There is a new picture at the top of my side bar that I'd like to draw your attention to. If you click on the photo it will take you to Old Road Primitives where information is available for an on-line Christmas Craft Show. Please check it out. It looks like it will be a lot of fun for everyone who loves a good craft show, and who doesn't?

Since blogger decided to ignore my posting instructions this post is a bit early. As always thanks for stopping by.

WIND FALL

It was almost like winning the lottery. The postal carrier came to the door yesterday to deliver the prize I'd won on one of my favorite blog sites and to say that I was excited is an understatement. Who would have thought that someone my age could turn cartwheels? Not that I actually turned any but I wanted to. Every since I found out my entry had been picked by her lovely daughters, thanks girls I owe you one, I've been over the top in the excitement department.

Heather from Rose Hill Designs has one of the happiest most cheerful sites to visit. Her illustrations are so upbeat and unbelievably adorable. She has a mouse named Madeline, a name I've always been fond of, who is the most charming mouse I've ever seen. If you haven't been to Heather's site you are missing out on a real treat.

Because I'm so excited about my prize I'm going to show you now what was in that package.

First thing I found when opening the package is this lovely book bag. It's painted with one of the cutest ballerina frogs that I've ever seen.  Heather filled this bag with some of the dearest little treasures.

She didn't skimp on them either. There are three or four of each piece of art work and I'm planning on sharing these little gems with my two sisters. They're both big fans of Heather's work so they're going to love what I'm sending their way.

The prize was supposed to be this wonderful art book where Heather has a double page layout of her work and a $25.00 gift card from Barnes and Noble. Now you see what a generous person Heather is.

Here are Heather's pages in the book. The title of the book is "100 ILLUSTRATIONS 2011 ANNUAL" and it can be purchased at Barnes and Noble. It's a wonderful book and I've enjoyed going through it and plan on spending even more time looking at all of the amazing works inside.

Thanks again Heather. I love my prize.

As always, thanks for stopping by.
