A JUNE SANTA

Remember those three Santa heads that made me think about the old television show, "What's My Line"? The first of the three has been given a body and is finally finished. The other two will be done within the next week or so.

So, what do you think? Is this the real Santa that travels the earth on Christmas Eve?

Let's see now, white hair and beard? Check. Has a bag of toys? Check. Looks good dressed in the color red? Check. Has a twinkle in his eye? Check. This sure looks like Santa to me.

Santa, that's sure a big teddy you have there.

In my last post I said I wasn't a doll maker and I have a feeling some of you might have misunderstood what I meant when I said that. I really am not a doll maker, but from time to time I may make one just to amuse myself. Like many of you I try my hand at doing different things. I enjoy making things sometimes just to see if I can. I'm a dabbler. Some of the things I do while dabbling actually surprize me when they turn out. The dolls are in that catagory. I have all of those heads that need bodies so I may be making a few more dolls in the future but don't for one moment think that it's going to make me a doll maker. I'll still be dabbling.

It looks like we may get some sunshine today. I'm okay with that. Unlike so many of you we haven't seen much sun so far this summer. I know there are many areas that could use some rain. It's a shame we can't order up the weather we need. Maybe rain through the night while we're sleeping and then sunshine during the day. Wouldn't that be perfect?

I hope you enjoyed seeing my latest Santa. I've got two more to finish and that will bring the total of Santas for this year to eight. Not bad considering it's only June.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,

Oh, Miss Maddyrose, I think that is the real Santa - the real deal (giggle). And his little travel companion "Bear".

Yup, that's him. Give Bellamine & Wendy a hug for me. It's almost "Summer Camp Time", yippee.

Hugs ♥

Well I certainly believe that he looks like Santa. He has that certain jingly, ho-ho-ho sparkle to him.
I do know that the "dolls" that you make are wonderful. And I understand that you say you do dabbling and I must say I love it.

Granny and I looooove that Santa. He has the kindest face, and I'm sure some little boy or girl will be thrilled with that teddy.
Looking forward to seeing more.
Big smooches Wilbur.

A dabbler...not a dollmaker! Okay, whatever, but you surely are a great dabbler. AND, I absolutely adore this Santa. Gosh, his face is fantastic.

And, "rain through the night while we're sleeping..." sounds so good. Thanks for thinking about us!

Yes, yes, yes...he IS the real Santa, I jut know it!! He is just so perfect and the little smiling bear just completes this Santa!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. Your wonderful comments are much appreciated. You ask about the shine...I haven't figured it out yet...I just shut the flash off and closed any light that would reflect on the hair.

I have been playing around with the medium Ultra Matte Medium by Liquitex. It really takes the shine away if you mix it with your paint. But it's not meant to be a finish so I don't know how well it would hold up.

I am always experimenting with something for shine..it is my worst enemy...lol

Oh Miss Maddy Rose, he has the sweetest face. His expression is so gentle. And the bear is too adorable. I still say you are a creative genius!

I would love to live somewhere that rained at night and had sunshine during the day. We have had rain once for a very short spell in over 2 weeks of temp over 100. It's just crazy.

Hugs to you, Mina
